Offender Supervision

Probation Officers provide supervision of court-ordered juvenile offenders. Terms typically include community service, fines, restitution, and may include detention days to be served during the period of supervision. Other special conditions may include curfew, travel limitations, residency requirements, school attendance, counseling, and participation in Juvenile Court programs.

The State of Washington provides limited funds to assist the Juvenile Court in several specific programs. These include the following:

  • Intensive Community Supervision (school contacts, mediation, conflict resolution, and other counseling services to juveniles and their families)
  • Special Sex Offender Disposition Alternative (SSODA)
  • Chemical Dependency Disposition Alternative (CDDA)
  • Aggression Replacement Training (ART)

In addition, Probation Officers coordinate the provision of support services for a variety of community resources. Probation Officers serve as the teachers of the Aggression Replacement Training curriculum.
