Illegal Burning

The burning of garbage has been illegal since 1967. Where burning is allowed, only natural vegetation or firewood is legal to burn. Burn barrels are not allowed.

The burning of garbage is punishable by up to a $1,500 fine and any evidence of burned garbage is adequate proof for the fine to be imposed.
