Shoreline Master Program Update

Mason County is updating its Shoreline Master Program (SMP), which regulates land use and development within 200 feet from rivers, lakes, and marine shores. Mason County has over 709 miles of shoreline that are protected by the Washington State Shoreline Management Act (SMA) and by the Mason County SMP.

UPDATE STATUS – Planning Advisory Commission Review

The Citizen Advisory Committee has completed its official review of the SMP Draft. Click here to review the comments received during the CAC review.

The January 17th, 2013 draft is now being reviewed by the Planning Advisory Commission. Several workshops have been scheduled through May 2014, in which the public is invited to attend. After the workshops, the draft will be revised to include the changes recommended by the Planning Advisory Commission (PAC), one or more public hearings will be held, and they will make a final recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners.

The Public is invited to attend the PAC Workshops, which are at 6:00 PM at 411 N 5th St, Shelton.
