  • Recycling in Mason County - The Board of County Commissioners announces they will conduct a public hearing on December 23, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. to consider an ordinance which provides residential curbside recycling at households with garbage service in unincorporated Mason County. (12/9/2008)
  • Transportation Improvement Program Citizens Advisory Program - Mason County is seeking citizen volunteers to serve on the Transportation Improvement Program Citizens Advisory Program (TIP-CAP).   • Mason County Commission Meeting Schedule for November and December - The Mason County Commissioners typically conduct regular business every Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. with the 4th Tuesday meeting being scheduled at 6:00 p.m. On the 5th Tuesdays, the Commissioners meet in the north end of the County at 6:00 p.m. (11/04/2008)
  • Latimers Landing Boat Launch Temporary Closure - The Mason County Board of Commissioners would like to announce that the Boat Launch at Latimers Landing County Park will be closed temporarily on Monday and Tuesday, November 24 and 25 for float adjustments. (11/04/2008 )

  • 2009 County Budget Announcement - With the on-going work to balance the 2009 County budget amid the current economic downturn, the Mason County Board of Commissioners are requesting each county department to closely assess their respective budget requests in order to eliminate any unnecessary costs.   • Fall Cleanup 2008 - Fall is here and so are the opportunities for Mason County residents to dispose of their yard debris and recyclable metal at no charge for the entire month of October. Yard debris, such as leaves, branches and brush can be brought, as well as scrap metal, including appliances, BBQ grills, and other miscellaneous items. (9/23/2008)

  • Lodging Tax Grant Application Deadline - Each year Mason County provides grant funding from the Lodging Tax Fund to support the advertising and promotion efforts that promote tourism in Mason County. Any group or organization may apply for funding consideration. (09/09/2008)
  • Park Host Program - Mason County Parks and Trails Department are pleased to announce the intention to begin offering a Park Host Program at two County Park sites in 2009.   • Salary of Prosecuting Attorney - SB 6297 did not set the salary level for the Prosecuting Attorney at the same salary level of a Superior Court Judge. The bill directed the State to pay half of a Superior Court Judge’s salary towards the County Prosecutor’s position (6/03/2008)
  • Draft Hoodsport Rural Activity Center Stormwater Plan - Mason County will be having a public workshop at the Hoodsport Timberland Library to present the draft Hoodsport Rural Activity Center Stormwater Plan.   • Solid Waste Disposal Vouchers - This past December Mason County suffered through a severe natural disaster. The torrential rains, mudslides and flooding affected many county residents.
