Mason County Public Health issues certified birth certificates daily for persons born in the State of Washington on or after 1922*. Certified copies of birth certificates are $20.00 each (pre-paid).
Certificates applied for any time before 3:00 pm can be picked up after 4:00 pm the same day. Certificates applied for after 3:00 pm will be available for pick up after 4:00 pm the following business day. A certificate can be issued while you wait for an additional $3.00 expedite fee. Applications received in the mail will be issued and mailed the following business day. (Allow 3-4 weeks for newborns). Download application.

*Births from 1907 to 1922 can obtain certified birth certificates from the Washington State Center for Health Statistics at (360) 236-4300 or for credit card orders, call (360)236-4313.
Records prior to 1907 must be obtained from the county of event.
Death Certificates
Death Certificates can be obtained at Mason County Public Health for a person who passed away in Mason County within 60 days of his or her death. * Certified copies of death certificates can be obtained for $20.00 per copy. Download application.
Certified copies can be issued while you wait as long as the certificate of death is on hand at the County and is not pending cause of death. The County only holds death certificates for 60 days from the death of the individual and is thereafter forwarded to the State Center for Health Statistics for filing and archiving. *Death certificates that have been filed electronically will always be available at the county level regardless of the county in which the death occurred.
