*** Mason Lake Boat Ramp Closure***
Mason County staff will be meeting with the project contractor at Mason Lake Park on Wednesday, September 15th. At the meeting on the 15th, it is anticipated that a "notice to proceed" for the project will be given. The boat ramp will close for the renovation shortly thereafter and will reopen upon completion. The exact day and date of the closure is still not known, we advise that you remove your boat or watercraft no later than the 15th of September.. What about household hazardous waste?

The following is accepted for free at the Mason County Solid Waste Facility (427-5271):

  • Antifreeze (also accepted at other Mason County Transfer Stations)
  • Automotive cleaners, waxes, and other chemical products
  • Diesel
  • Fluorescent tubes and bulbs
  • Gas and gas additives
  • Lawn and garden products
  • Motor oil (also accepted at other Mason County Transfer Stations)
  • Paints and stains
  • Rechargeable household batteries (auto batteries cost $1.09)
  • Oil filters (also accepted at other Mason County Transfer Stations)
  • Transmission fluid

Other hazardous materials can be taken to the Kitsap County Moderate Risk Waste Facility (337-5777) at no charge.

Please call ahead of time for any delivery over 50 gallons in total volume, or anyone who might have a 55-galllon drum. Business customers need appointments at all times.
