The Solid and Hazardous Waste Program is responsible for enforcing the state and county regulations as they apply to solid and hazardous waste. The purpose of the program is to control disposal of matrials which may affect the chemical quality of the ground water or drinking water sources

This program offers a number of services to the residents of Mason County. These include: enforcement of the regulations in the public and private sector, inspecting and permitting landfills, performing soil, ground and surface water monitoring at the landfills and bio-solid land application sites, and responding to clandestine drug labs.
