Final Inspection

**This information includes most, but possibly not all requirements**
During your inspection the inspector will be looking for:
  • Site address marked, for locations see permit condition
  • Building permit
  • Mason County approved building plans and site plan
  • Complete WSEC air sealing: Caulk/seal windows & doors, electrical, plumbing and other openings to wallboard.
  • Caulk/Seal seams on siding
  • Weatherstrip exterior doors and windows
  • Crawl space access
  • Attic Access installed, insulated, & weatherstripped
  • Safety glazing installed where required
  • Smoke Detectors working and checked for correct locations
  • Water heater strapped to wall with 22g upper & lower, temperature relief piped to exterior
  • 20-minute door opening from garage into dwelling
  • Protection of equipment in garage with a vehicle barrier.
  • Exhaust fans including whole house, and kitchen exhaust installed, working correctly and vented to exterior
  • Expansion tank on hot water tank, where applicable.
  • All penetrations in wall separating residence & garage sealed with approved material.
  • Handrails and guards installed where required
  • Landings at exterior exits where required
  • Attic and floor insulation installed
  • HVAC system installed correctly
  • Divert drainage away from structure (gutters, downspouts,etc.)
  • Plumbing fixtures installed including p-traps at all locations. Tubs, toilets and showers in working order and caulked to floor and wall covering.
  • Outside finished grade slopes 2% away from structure.
  • Fireplace or stove installed based upon manufacturer specifications and manufacturer specifications available.
  • **Approved site plans are required to be on-site with the approved plans at all times**
  • Additional inspections may be necessary as required by the Building Official, Fire Marshal, other Mason County Department, or engineer or geologist of record.
  • All construction must conform to the Mason County approved building plans and is subject to field corrections.
