  • 05/26/2020 - Phase 2 Letter - From the Office of The Mason County Health Officer - Daniel Stein, M.D. - I am happy to report that we have been granted a variance to move forward to Phase 2 of Governor Inslee’s Safe Start. Over the next few days, we will be seeing the reopening of some of our essential economy. Expanding access to these services and allowing people to get back to work will allow our community to resume some of our normal activities.

Contact tracing has already been conducted and the isolation period is complete. Mason County Public Health is following up with patient at this time.

  • 04/25/2020 - Confirmed Death due to Covid-19 - Mason County Community Services Public Health has confirmed the first death of a Mason County resident due to complications related to COVID-19. The patient was a male in his 70’s hospitalized outside of Mason County. This is the 1st COVID-19 death of a Mason County resident.

  • 04/16/2020 - Health Officer Letter to the community - Over the last four weeks, we have experienced major changes in our daily lives and routines as we protect our communities from the spread of COVID-19. While change is often difficult, our efforts are beginning to show positive outcomes as the number of new cases is decreasing and many of those who have been infected are recovering at home. Of Mason County’s 21 positive cases of COVID-19, 10 are no longer in isolation and their immediate families have finished their quarantine phase.

  • 03/16/2020 - Social distancing is a way to calm the pace at which an outbreak is able to spread across a population. Washington Governor Jay Inslee released a Proclamation reducing the size of public gatherings to 50 people or less until midnight, March 31, 2020. Governor Inslee has also adopted Proclamation 20-13 prohibiting anyone from gathering in a public place for entertainment, recreation, food and beverage service, theater, bowling, fitness, and other similar activities until midnight, March 31, 2020.
